Garden Goods Direct Emperor Japanese Maple

Similar to its cousin, the Bloodgood Japanese Maple, Emperor Japanese maples distinguish themselves with their shinier bright red leaves. Their leaves bud approximately two weeks later than other Japanese maples, which means they are better suited for gardens subject to late frosts. These hardy upright red maples won’t overwhelm a smaller garden: mature Emperor Japanese Maples only grow to about 15 feet tall.
