Leymus Blue Dune or Blue Dune Lyme Grass is a bright blue, cool-season ornamental grass that maintains its coloring throughout the growing season. In the spring, straw-colored seed heads appear 8-12 inches above the foliage. Blue Dune Lyme Grass is native to Western Europe where it can be found in sand dunes as well as in rich soils. Blue Dune Lyme Grass spreads by rhizomes, so it can be used as a tall ground cover, and for controlling soil erosion on hillsides and dunes.

The powder blue foliage makes this a strong accent in the mixed perennial border. the color blends well with purple and marron plants. Fills in large areas of the landscape quickly and is a great choice as a groundcover where little else will grow.

Does very well in containers and patio pots due to its drought tolerance.
