Garden Goods Direct Shrubs Radiance Abelia

Radiance Abelia is a Variegated Abelia that has proven itself as a sturdy, low maintenance abelia shrub that keeps its naturally round, mounded shape all year with little to no pruning. The new spring leaves emerge green with creamy-white edges, and as they age, they become silvery-green with bold ivory-yellow edges. Whatever the season, the leaves stand out against the vivid red stems of the branches. 

Abelia Radiance produces white fragrant flowers that seem to always be present from early summer through the fall. The tubular flowers are favorites of hummingbirds and honeybees. 

If left untrimmed, Radiance Abelia reaches a maximum height of 3 feet, making this a perfect choice for a low hedge surrounding patios and walkways. Radiance is also very impressive planted in dark-colored containers, bringing out the creamy white variegation.

This Glossy Abelia plant “pops” when planted against a darker backdrop, such as a backdrop of Arborvitae or Boxwoods. This Abelia even combines well with other members of the Abelia Family, such as Abelia Kaleidoscope.
